Sharing to Survive in Lagos : Sharing Cities

Shareable is an award-winning nonprofit news, action and connection hub for the sharing transformation.
It is a movement of movements emerging from the grassroots to solve today’s biggest challenges in an
emerging way forward– the sharing transformation.

Shareable in partnership with Creative Commons Nigeria is hosting a brunch meeting to bring together
software developers and members of the public in Lagos State, Nigeria, to introduce the Global Sharing
Cities Movement and provide examples of sharing projects going on around the world. Lagos, being the
economic hub of the country with a densely populated city provides the human resources and
environment needed to drive sharing in Nigeria. The theme of the event is ,”Sharing to Survive in Lagos :
Sharing Cities”.

The event will provide a platform for the organizers to discuss and provide adequate knowledge about
sharing cities to the following sets of people :

1. Software developers in Lagos State. This is because of the presence of a significant number of
tech hubs within Lagos and the strategic status as economic capital headquarters of Nigeria.

2. Members of the public who need to be exposed to the benefits of sharing. The focus will be on
women, youth and people from the business community
